World Cup 2019: PCB to dismiss the petition against incompetent players

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is to dismiss the petition they filed at Sindh High Court (SHC) against the incompetent players during the World Cup 2019.

Notably, the incident was blowing the social media when Shoiab Malik, Imam ul Haq, and Wahab Riaz were found with India’s tennis star, Sania Mirza at a Sheesha Bar a few hours before India vs Pakistan group stage match.

The incident caught everyone’s eyes after the performance of players was not up to the mark and people blamed their hang out as a reason for failure against India.

The PCB filed a case by Abdul Jalil Marwat who accused the players’ incompetency in SHC but has taken it back

Dismissing the case, the courts’ official has said that there is no proof that shows players’ intoxicatedness.

The PCB counsel, however, termed the petition as irrational saying it’s not tenable on the ground of jurisdiction. The lawyer, while filing a counter-affidavit, said that the incident took place in England which was beyond the territorial jurisdiction of SHC. source: GEO
