Kevin Pietersen: Only MS Dhoni knows when to retire, no one else

Kevin Pietersen, the former South-African bornt Engish cricketer, thinks that it might be MS Dhoni who shall know when to retire. He thinks that no one else shall not poke his nose in Dhoni’s retirement decision.

The topic of MS Dhoni’s retirement has been trending for a few months. It seems like his own nation has stood against him and wants him to retire. MS Dhoni has served India Cricket for so long and he, no doubt, deserves a farewell with dignity. A few are of the thoughts that if he has not taken part in international cricket since ICC World Cup 2019 and has been on the gap for this much longer, he shall think about retirement, however, a few think that it is totally up to Dhoni whether to come back or not.

However, it is his fitness that will decide whether he is capable of comeback or not. He was seen practicing in nets for the Indian Premier League (IPL) which has been suspended until further notice amid Coronavirus outbreak. He thought that after performing in the cash-rich league, he would make a comeback on behalf of his T20 league’s performance.

Kevin Pieterson’s thoughts resemble that of Umesh Yadav who thinks that it is up to Dhoni if he wanna play, he will. He thinks that Dhoni has served to his nation a lot, hence, he shall be the one to decide about his retirement, not anyone else.

“I think after what MS Dhoni has done for Indian cricket, he decides when he wants to hang up his boots, no one else,” Kevin Pietersen said.

Kevin had earlier praised Dhoni’s captaincy skills as well.

“It will be very difficult just with the weight of expectation to go against MS Dhoni because of what everybody expects from him, how he has to live his life and what he has been through captaining India and then captaining the CSK,” Pietersen had said.
