Australia vs Pakistan, Pakistan, tried to make a comeback at the beginning of Day 3 after falling to 96/6 at the end of Day 2. Pakistan got bowled out on 302 runs in their first innings, but Australian skipper Tim Paine enforced a follow-on. Pakistan’s top-order, once again, could do little against the Australian bowling attack as rain brought the day to an early end. Pakistan finished at 39/3.
Australia vs Pakistan, Yasir Shah scores maiden Test Hundred:
After having a terrible start on Day 2, Yasir Shah and Babar Azam tried to stabilize things for their team as the pair took a stand of 105 runs together. Babar Azam missed his 3rd Test Hundred by just 3 runs after losing his wicket on 97 runs off 132 deliveries. Shaheen Shah Afridi lost his wicket on a golden duck as Starc claimed his 6th wicket of the innings. More than half of Mitchell Starc’s wickets went right into the hands of Tim Paine behind the wickets.

Pakistan was 194/8, but Mohammad Abbas and Yasir Shah batted exceptionally well compared to the other batsmen on Pakistan’s side. Yasir Shah and Mohammad Abbas shared an 87 runs partnership as Yasir Shah scored his maiden Test ton. Yasir Shah scored 113 runs from 213 balls with 13 fours. Mohammad Abbas faced 78 balls for 29 runs. Pakistan finished on 302 after losing all their wickets. Mitchell Starc claimed 6 wickets for 66 runs. Pat Cummins took 3 for 83 runs, while Josh Hazlewood bowled 14 overs, conceding 48 runs for 1 wicket.
Australia, who were still ahead by 287 runs, decided to enforce the follow-on. Shan Masood and Imam-ul-Haq came to bat first. Imam-ul-Haq got lbw by Josh Hazlewood on a duck. Captain Azhar Ali failed to impress once again with his 9 for 8 deliveries. Babar Azam also got edged behind on Josh Hazelwood’s delivery for 8 runs.
Opener Shan Masood and Asad Shafiq will resume their batting on Day 4. Shan Masood is not out on 14 runs from 55 deliveries, while Asad Shafiq is standing firm at 8 for 17 balls. The play had to be ended early due to rain, and Pakistan will continue from 39/3.
