Umar Akmal has dragged the matter to the court of the Arbitration after the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) was disturbed with his reduced ban of 1.5 years instead of a whole 3-year ban.

His lawyer has said that the player was not given a proper chance to clear his stance in his case.

“Akmal wasn’t given a proper chance to clear his stance. That’s why we have filed an appeal in CAS to get justice for the cricketer. We appealed to lift 1.5 years ban too from the cricketer,” he said.

Earlier, the PCB has challenged the reduction in Umar Akmal’s ban that was granted to him on the appeal of an independent adjudicator.

PCB says, they take the culprit activities on a serious note and they have taken the matter to CAS (Court of Arbitration for Sports) to go against the reduction of his ban.

Umar has always been in the news for his culprits and corrupt activities accused. He often breaks the policies and regulations and code of conduct of the PCB. PCB had handed over him a ban of three years from all formats of the cricket which was reduced to 1.5 years as a result of his appeal to an independent adjudicator. Consequently, it seems like that national board does not want him to see in international cricket as rehabilitation process for the players before him who were found guilty of their crimes, took place and they were given chance as well.

The year 2020 has not gone so good for Umer as it started with troubles for him. He found himself under hot waters when PCB restricted him for playing PSL’s first match on 17th February after finding something irrelevant but the matter is closed yet. Later, on 27th April, the board handed him a ban for several accuses.
