Sri Lanka team needs to work hard: Mickey Arthur

The former head coach of Pakistan Cricket Team, Mickey Arthur, has taken the bid of Sri Lanka Cricket Team for the second 20-overs World Cup title later this year. recently and it seems to him that the team needs fine-tuning with developments.

According to Mickey, the team needs adjustments and needs to be polished. Sri Lanka lost two twenty-twenty fixtures against West Indies last month. They lost a test against Pakistan before Pakistan Super League (PSL) and were cleaned swiped in the T20 series as well.

“Our T20 side is still going to take some fine-tuning and this was amplified against a very strong West Indies team that simply had too much power for us,” Arthur said in a chat with Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) media unit.

“I think the most important thing is building a method to win games based on the resources that you have at your disposal and then making sure that the players are under no illusion as to what that method is based on our strengths,” he said.

Mickey Arthur became the coach of the Sri Lanka Cricket Team in December. Since then, the team’s performance has not been sound enough. They only took lead over Zimbabwe. However, the England test match was called off due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We have some very realistic goals with our test team and believe that we have now the players and gameplans to have success both at home and abroad in the future.”
