RCB is ready whenever IPL happens: Mike Hesson

Mike Hesson, the former coach of New Zealand, who has been appointed as the RCB’s director of Cricket Operations, has revealed that whenever the Indian Premier League (IPL) will be staged, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will be all set to play.

The cash-rich league was all set to be commenced by 29th March but it faced many obstacles in its way of scheduling as the lockdown kept on extending and still exists amidst the Coronavirus. Now, there are no comments over the authentic schedule for IPL. The case is very similar for the other T20 leagues and other cricketing scenarios across the globe due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Mike Hesson truly understands what the situation is and appreciates the decision for canceling rather than organizing it in the worst situations. The training camp of RCB has also been canceled in the midst of the situation.

“We were obviously a week away from coming into camp, like everybody else, feeling well advanced in terms of our planning. Quite rightfully, everything’s been put on hold and everybody is going about their work,” Hesson was quoted as saying in Star Sports’ Show Cricket Connected.

“There are obviously other priorities at the moment that people are focussing on. We’re still really hopeful that things will evolve and there will be an IPL this year and if it happens, then I can assure you that RCB will be ready,” he added.

It is to be noted that Virat Kohli’s leading side, RCB, is yet to win the single title of ICC Champions. The team worked really hard since its initiations but the captaincy seemed to be failed at the important times. Kohli’s captaincy is suffering similarly in ICC events as well as they manage to make it to quarter or semi or finals but, failed at the mega stages.
