‘Pugam’ to decide the first pick of PSL 2020 draft:
Pakistan Super League (PSL), the most awaited and loved tournament of the year for Pakistanis, has brought us something exciting yet again.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to bring the traditional street cricket’s ‘Pugam’[show of hands] to the upcoming edition of the PSL 2020. The first pick of the PSL 2020 draft will be decided through Pugam. All six franchises’ representatives will gather either at Minar-e-Pakistan or Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore to do ‘Pugam’.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is set to attract cricket fans by implementing several unique ideas. The PCB earlier introduced a no-toss rule in the ‘Quaid-e-Azam trophy’ to reduce the extra advantage for the hosting side.
In 2018, The Cricket Australia (CA) also introduced the bat flip in place of toss in their Big Bash League (BBL). Everyone was attracted by this new innovation in the world of cricket and the ‘Pugam’ in the PSL 2020 will hopefully do the same for Pakistan.
PSL 2020 draft date and schedule:
The draft of the upcoming edition of PSL will begin from mid-November while the Tournament is scheduled to start from February 2020 and will conclude on March 22. The entire PSL 2020 will be played inside Pakistan.
