IPL 2020: After what has been evolved recently from the camps of Chennai Super Kings (CSK), the side might be unable to feature in the initial matches of the Indian Premier League (IPL). They might be pulled out of the season if the situation gets worsened for them.
As many as thirteen contestants of CSK have been tested COVID-19 positive. Speculations count Suresh Raina but he might be stuck with personal reasons that are still unsure formally. Deepak Chahar and one of the officials are also under isolation after being contracted with the virus.
It could be a huge blow to Dhoni’s leading side as they are falling short of players. With the rising cases in Dubai, BCCI is dragging IPL at any cost which can be hazardous for the masses.
One of the officials of BCCI announced a resting era for the side to be more powerful physically and with fewer health concerns.
CSK might be unable to play IPL 2020
“They will now not be in a position to contest the opening game of the IPL 2020. We will give CSK a few more days to come out of this setback,” said one of the BCCI officials to InsideSport.
It is to be noted that the final and formal schedule was to be revealed on 29th August that has now been delayed indefinitely after CSK has got struck by the deadly Chinese virus.
The cash-rich T20 tournament, IPL 2020 is ready to be commenced by 19th September in full fledge. The league will be continued for 51 days as revealed by the official.
IPL was all set to be kicked off by 29th March. It moved ahead by the pressure created by the lockdown in India, which was later extended as well. The cash-rich league first moved to the latest window of April-May, then with an extension in the lockdown by Modi’s government till 3rd May, the league was called off indefinitely till any further notice by the officials. The cancelation was to cost negatively to franchises as well as BCCI.
