Cricket Australia (CA), like other cricketing boards, is suffering mega losses due to cancelation in their relevant leagues, tournaments, tours, and series. This might cause CA to suffer the loss of millions. Suffering from such mega losses can deprive them of paying their staffs, and centrally and provisionally contracted cricketers regularly. The option that remains to be implemented is cutting the expenditures of respective staff or reducing the staff line.

The newly appointed chairman of Cricket Australia has denounced the forty redundancies and 14% cut in the redundancy amidst the Coronavirus outbreak. CA has revealed its annual budget with 40 Million cuts. The chairman hopes the board will comeback prosperous again.

“We recognize that this is a difficult time for Cricket Australia employees, particularly for those staff members affected by these redundancies and their families,” CA chairman Earl Eddings said in a statement.

“However, our responsibility is clear: to navigate a path for cricket through this period of uncertainty and disruption to ensure we come out the other side sustainable in the short term and prosperous in the long term.

“With increasing clarity about the impact of COVID-19, we have managed the financial impact on our organization, our people, our partners, and players,” Eddings further revealed.

The Coronavirus pandemic has halted the sports scenarios across the globe. Cricket is one of the major sports scenarios that have troubled. There is no business hence, the economies are going down of the countries. There is no money and wage generation through which people can fulfill their basic daily needs.

Also, as there is no cricket for months, boards are not making money and financial disturbance is affecting the economies of the boards. The boards will soon not be able to pay the cricketers if the pandemic continues.
