The Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) is looking forward to acquiring the services of the four umpires from the elite panel of the International Cricket Council (ICC). The four umpires will give their services for the Indian Premier League (IPL) to be started from 19th September.
All the four umpiring members of ICC elite panel will reach Dubai on 10th September. However, the world’s richest cricket board will be taking the help of a total of sixteen umpires. It is to be noted that twelve Indian umpires will be trying their luck this time.
BCCI to acquire services of four umpires from ICC elite panel for IPL 2020
“There are four from ICC’s Elite Panel who have been selected to officiate in the tournament. The rest are Indian umpires. We are looking to bring in the umpires in the UAE around September 10” a source told Times of India.
The much-awaited extravaganza is all set to be kicked at Dubai. However, the venues for 51 matches have still not been decided as the official schedule is yet to be revealed.
The pending schedule of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) is likely to be revealed on Thursday or Friday’s evening. The reason for not announcing the schedule was thirteen COVID-19 positive cases in CSK camp.
It is to be noted that the final and formal schedule was to be revealed on 29th August. On the contrary, after one more COVID-19 positive has been spotted in addition to prior thirteen, it might be a huge trouble for BCCI but still, they want to commence the league.
Also, BCCI has revealed that each franchise will earn 150 Crore. It might be the reason to stick for organizing rather than giving up. Opined, scrapping up shall be prior to it considering everyone’s health.
