Azhar Ali has finally played an impressive captain knock as he has crossed a hundred in the third Southampton test against England.
The skipper has been in the miserable form since his last few red-ball innings which dragged him in a pool of criticism. Finally, after a single impressive knock, he must be on the shoulders of Pakistani fans.
Azhar Ali impresses after many poor test innings, also crosses 6000 test runs
He has crossed the milestone of becoming the fifth Pakistani to reach 6000+ test runs. Also, he has registered his 17th test hundred.
However, Pakistan have found the hosts England so harsh on them in the third Southampton test. England have crossed a massive margin of 580 runs and still got wickets in their hands. With the middle-order batsman and the finisher on the strike, they have got a supreme legacy playing only a single inning. Zak Crawley’s 267 (393) and Joss Buttler’s 152 (311) have challenged Pakistani batsmen and it is going to be tough on them.
England’s 580+ is a new challenge for Pakistan to face
Pakistan are already eight wickets down on 247 and trial by more than half of the target still.
