Pakistan received a terrible start from their top and middle-order as they had lost 6 wickets for just 89 runs. Shan Masood scored 19 runs, while Imam-ul-Haq added 2 runs. Captain Azhar Ali scored only 9 runs after facing 23 deliveries.
Babar Azam and Yasir Shah shared a 105 runs partnership together. Babar Azam missed his 3rd Test hundred by just 3 runs as he lost his wicket to Mitchell Starc after scoring 97 runs from 132 balls.
Yasir Shah, Pakistan’s legspinner, scored his maiden Test hundred. Yasir Shah finished his innings on 113 runs from 213 balls. Yasir Shah shared an 87 runs partnership with Mohammad Abbas, who contributed 29 runs from 78 balls during his innings.

Pakistan lost all their wickets on 302 runs with Australia leading by 287 runs. Mitchell Starc claimed 6 wickets for 66 runs from his 25 overs. Pat Cummins took 3 wickets while Josh Hazlewood dismissed 1.
Australia enforced the follow-on, and Pakistan sent Shan Masood and Imam-ul-Haq to bat first. Once again, Pakistan had lost 3 wickets for 20 runs. Babar Azam, who scored 97 runs in his first innings, fell for just 8 runs.
