It seems like a mess where the news got speculate by some officials and then they are denied after some time by other formal authorities. As it was revolving after Samaa tv showed that Shahid Afridi is to get a post in the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the news was later denied by a source in PCB. Who gave the hint to Samaa TV is the latest query here as the news has been denied.
On the other hand, it is to be answered yet if Pakistan’s former fast bowler, Shoaib Akhtar, is to be the new chief selector or not?
What is going on in PCB?
Shahid Afridi to get a post in PCB
On a note, a source was spotted saying that the former player and the board are not in contact whereas, the player himself confirmed that they are looking for the posts but the things are not finalized yet.
Shoaib Akhtar and PCB are not linked up for any post
On the other hand, Faizan was spotted writing that Shoaib and the board met in Islamabad to discuss international and domestic cricket. The question that arises here is: If the sources are denying Shoaib’s linkage with the board and he is not to be next selection chief, then why the board discussed internal relations with someone not directly linked with them?
“Ehsan Mani and Wasim Khan met Shoaib Akhtar today in Islamabad and discussed various issues related to international and domestic cricket,” wrote Faizan Lakhani.

“Yes, I and PCB are in contact for a post but nothing is finalized yet,” Akhtar shared. “See, I am ready to serve Pakistan’s cricket once again with a completely changed mindset,” Shoaib added.
“Our cricketers lack aggression. If I get the opportunity to coach youngsters, I would inject aggression in them. I will try my best to make a squad of 25-30 players and train them to become future stars. I don’t want money as Alhumdulillah I am already living a comfortable life but my aim is to transfer my attitude and whatever I have learnt so far in youngsters,” he concluded.
