Virat Kohli back at No. 1 spot in Test batsmen ranking:
Star Indian batsman and skipper, Virat Kohli move passed Steven Smith in ICC’s Test batsmen’s ranking to, once again, become the top-ranked Test batsman. Virat Kohli is standing tall at the top with 928 points, with Steven Smith coming at a close second with 923 points.
Kohli played an innings of 136 runs, scoring his 27th Test Hundred, in the day-night Test against Bangladesh in Kolkata. On the other end, Steven Smith’s 36 runs in Australia’s solitary innings against Pakistan in the 2nd Test brought him to 923 points from 931 after the game.

Australian batsman David Warner, who utterly dominated Pakistani bowlers with his unbeaten 335 runs in Australia’s only innings against Pakistan in the 2nd Test, made his way back into the top 10 and is now on the 5th spot with 764 points after jumping ahead 12 places.
Marnus Labuschagne, who scored back-to-back centuries against Pakistan in the 2 innings of the 2-match Test series, secured the 8th spot after starting from the 110th place at the beginning of the year.
Joe Root, who scored his 3rd double-ton in the 2nd Test against New Zealand, which resulted in a draw, also made his way back into the top 10. Root’s innings of 226 runs brought him to the 7th spot from the 11th with 752 points.
New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson and India’s Cheteshwar Pujara retained their spots in the top 10 list. Ajinkya Rahane moved down 1 place to the 6th spot with 759 points. New Zealand’s Henry Nicholls and Sri Lanka’s Dimuth Karunaratne are at the 9th and 10th spots, respectively, after moving down 3 places each.
