Sindh’s Sohail Khan dismissed both openers for golden ducks in his first over of the match. Southern Punjab sent Wahab Riaz on one down and he played a blistering innings of 41 runs off 30 balls with 3 fours and 2 huge sixes. The team had lost 3 wickets for 4 runs at the beginning but Wahab Riaz’s innings brought Southern Punjab back to life, as he and Shoaib Malik shared a partnership of 73 runs.

Sohaib Maqsood and wicketkeeper-batsman Umar Siddiq also got out without scoring any runs. Saif Badar got lbw by Anwar Ali after scoring 4 runs. Shoaib Malik made a decent impact after scoring 38 runs off 41 balls, after hitting 3 fours and a six. Towards the end of their innings, Aamer Yamin contributed 27 runs off 19 balls after smacking 2 sixes and a four, while Bilawal Bhatti struck 14 balls for 24 runs with 2 fours and a six.
Sohail Khan claims four:
Sohail Khan bowled brilliantly, taking 4 wickets after conceding only 15 runs in his 4 overs at the economy rate of 3.75. Sohail Khan dismissed both openers of Southern Punjab in the very first over of the match. Anwar Ali also claimed 3 wickets for 21 runs in his 4 overs. Kashif Bhatti turned out to be a little expensive for his team. He gave away 55 runs for 2 wickets in his 4 overs.
Hafeez and Zahid Mahmood secure the win in National T20 Cup:
Sindh required 150 runs off 20 overs to win the match their third match in the National T20 Cup. Khurram Manzoor and Ahsan Ali came to bat first for Sindh. Mohammad Irfan dismissed Khurram Manzoor on the second ball of the innings. Aamer Yamin claimed Ahsan Ali’s wicket in the second over. Sindh was 2 down for 4 runs but Sindh’s captain Asad Shafiq and wicketkeeper-batsman Sarfaraz Ahmed revived their team with their partnership of 63 runs.
Asad Shafiq contributed 25 runs off 25 balls, while Sarfaraz Ahmed got lbw by Zahid Mahmood after playing a very sensible innings. Sarfaraz scored 45 runs off 37 balls for 3 fours and a six. After Sarfaraz and Asad Shafiq lost their wickets, things started to go downhill for Sindh. Mohammad Hafeez and Zahid Mahmood shattered all hopes of winning the match for the opposing team. Sindh went from 67/3 to 114 all out in the span of approximately 8 overs.

Mohammad Hafeez and Zahid Mahmood brought down Sindh’s entire batting lineup singlehandedly. Mohammad Hafeez claimed 4 wickets after conceding only 24 runs in his 4 overs. Zahid Mahmood bowled only 3.3 overs but claimed 4 wickets for 21 runs. The pair took a total of 8 wickets combined for their team. The remaining two wickets were taken by Mohammad Irfan and Aamer Yamin. Mohammad Irfan gave away 20 runs in his 4 overs, while Aamer Yamin conceded 22 runs after bowling 3 overs.
Mohammad Hafeez was named “Player of the Match” for his outstanding performance with the bowl.
