As suggested by the weather reports declared by Pakistan Meteorological Department, there are higher chances of rain, thunderstorms, and even flash floods at Rawalpindi and Lahore and the chances to affect PSL 2020 schedule at mentioned events are much higher than before. The bad weather forecasts are to highly threaten the PSL fixtures this week.
The Met Office, in a press release, said that,
“Several parts of the country, including Rawalpindi and Lahore, are likely to receive widespread heavy rains, thunderstorm winds (with hailstorm) until Saturday due to a strong westerly weather system”.
“The precipitation could be so severe that the possibility of urban flooding cannot be ruled out in both the cities, which are scheduled to host two PSL 2020 matches each until Saturday,” it added.
Moreover, in recent days, the match at Rawalpindi between the home siders, Islamabad United and Sammy’s side, Peshawar Zalmi, was called-off due to the heavy cloud burst out there. As an outcome, both the teams got a point each on the rank table.
The four matches are to be affected and as per the reliable sources, matches could be shift to Karachi for safer play and to avoid any bad circumstance.
Following are the four matches of PSL 2020 that stand to be affected:
5 Mar – Peshawar Zalmi v Quetta Gladiators, Pindi Cricket Stadium (7 pm-10.15 pm)
6 Mar – Karachi Kings v Multan Sultans, Gaddafi Stadium (7 pm-10.15 pm)
