Our preparations are better than before – Misbah-ul-Haq

Pakistan’s head coach and chief selector, Misbah-ul-Haq:

Pakistan’s head coach and chief selector, Misbah-ul-Haq said that it is always difficult for Asian teams to perform well in Australian conditions. He added that Pakistan’s batting lineup is experienced this time and the boys have previously scored runs here in Australia.

Misbah-ul-Haq was the Pakistan cricket team’s captain when Pakistan last toured Australia in 2016-17. The visitors suffered a 3-0 whitewash at the hands of Australia but this time around Misbah is hopeful that the results will not be the same as last time.

Misbah expressed his high expectations for the young fast bowlers and Yasir Shah, who is experienced in Australian conditions. He said that when you have such a determined team, you expect good results. He added that the young fast bowlers are very energetic and all the players are expected to play well in these conditions.

Misbah-ul-Haq talks about Yasir Shah and other bowlers:

Misbah said that their young fast bowlers and Yasir Shah are their biggest positives in the current team. He explained that Yasir Shah is aware of the Australian conditions and can bowl lengthy spells because of his recent preparations from playing domestic cricket at home. “I am hoping that our preparations are better than before,” said Misbah.

Misbah-ul-Haq emphasized on the importance of taking 20 wickets, saying that you cannot win without it. He added that he feels like Pakistan’s batting lineup is capable of scoring 400-450 runs which will also help their bowlers along the way.

Pakistan lost the 3-match T20I series against Australia by 3-0. The first is scheduled to start on November 21. Pakistan will play only 2 Tests in Australia. The 2-match Test series will also be the first international assignment for Azhar Ali as Pakistan’s new Test captain.
