West Indies cricketer Nicholas Pooran suspended for Ball-tempering:
West Indies cricketer Nicholas Pooran was caught deliberately changing the condition of the ball with his thumb on a video footage in the 3rd ODI match against Afghanistan. Pooran has been suspended for 4 matches and will miss the entire 3-match T20I series against Afghanistan including the first match of 3-match T20I series against India, which follows right after.
Nicholas Pooran was charged with violating Article 2.14 of the code, which relates to any act of changing the condition of the ball. He has been dealt with a level 3 breach of International Cricket Council’s (ICC) Code of Conduct. Pooran admitted the offense on Tuesday, November 12, and accepted the sanctions proposed by the ICC.
Nicholas Pooran is a 24-year-old cricketer who recently made his ODI debut in February this year. He has played 16 ODIs and 14 T20Is.

He said that he made an error in judgment and he accepts the penalty, while assuring everyone that such an incident will not be repeated.
Pooran said that he sincerely apologizes to his teammates, supporters and the Afghanistan team for what transpired on the field of play during the 3rd ODI. He added that he recognizes that he made an error in judgment and he fully accepts the penalty against him. He assured everyone that this was an isolated incident and it will never happen against, while promising to learn from his mistakes and coming back stronger and wiser.
