United Arab Emirates could only score 80 runs at the cost of 9 wickets after 20 overs against the Netherlands’ bowlers. The Netherlands chased the target of 81 in just 15.1 overs with 8 wickets in hand to secure their place in the T20 World Cup 2020.

Netherlands bowlers restrict UAE to 80 runs:
United Arab Emirates decided to bat first after winning the toss. They sent Rohan Mustafa and Zawar Farid to open the innings for their team. Fred Klaassen dismissed Rohan Mustafa in the first over of the match for just 1 run. Paul Van Meekeren claimed two back-to-back wickets, as he dismissed both Rameez Shahzad and Muhammad Usman on ducks in the second over of the match.
The United Arab Emirates was 3/3 at this point and it kept getting worse for them. Brandon Glover lbw Darius D’Silva on a golden duck and also claimed the wicket of Zawar Farid who scored 5 runs after facing 12 balls. At this point in the game, United Arab Emirates were 5 down for 9 runs in the fifth over of the match.
Waheed Ahmed and wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Boota shared a partnership of 35 runs. Waheed Ahmed scored 19 runs off 35 balls, while Mohammad Boota contributed 16 off 27 deliveries. Ben Cooper and Colin Ackermann shared a partnership of 51 runs before Colin Ackermann lost his wicket to Zahoor Khan.
Ben Cooper and Ryan ten Doeschate finished the job for their team. Ben Cooper remained not out after scoring 41 runs off 53 deliveries with 3 fours, while Ryan ten Doeschate scored an unbeaten 11 runs off 16 balls. Netherlands finished their innings on 81/2 after 15.1 overs and qualified for the T20 World Cup 2020.

Netherlands is the third team to secure their slot through the T20 World Cup Qualifiers. The other two teams that have already qualified for the World Cup 2020 are Ireland and Papua New Guinea.

United Arab Emirates had a decent group stage where they won 4 out of 6 matches and remained on third spot just because of net run rate. They will have one more chance to qualify for the T20 World Cup 2020 when they face Scotland on Wednesday 30 October.
