The fifth edition of HBL PSL is going to mark a new era for the cricket in Pakistan as a renovated Multan stadium is going to hold the first match in the history of PSL on February 26th, 2020, Wednesday.

Multan stadium was under renovation to add more venues for PSL and to rotate cricket in whole of the country. Prior, it was denounced that from PSL 2021, more venues are to be added.

Since Sri Lanka attack 2009, no international cricket was held in Pakistan and the nation was declared as terrorist by the rivals. The last match (ODI) that Multan held was played between Bangladesh and Pakistan in 2008.

The up-gradation of the venue has added many features and has given a new picture to the stadium with a capacity of holding around 25,000 spectators. The PCB has spent over 2 Billion rupees on the renovation of Rawalpindi and Multan stadium.

Multan Stadium being the home venue of Multan will host its first PSL match between Multan Sultans and Peshawar Zalmi which is going to be the first-ever T20 match to be held in Multan Stadium.
