He received all the praise by the fans and the management and also get man of the series and man of the match awards.
Earlier, he received criticism on being selected in the T20I squad considering his age but he proved that age is just a number and the talent matters.
Along with him, Shoaib Malik was also selected who failed to impress. Both players made their T20I debuts back in 2006. Mohammad Hafeez has become the second Pakistani batsman to cross 2000 T20I runs and third Pakistani eventually. Notably, the skipper of the Pakistan Women Cricket Team, Bismah Maroof, is the first Pakistani to reach the milestone. After her, Shoaib Malik became the second Pakistani and first Pakistani batsman to touch the feat.
It took 14 years to reach the point. Playing 93 matches and 89 innings have finally dragged him to 2000 T20I runs. He is also the player to have fifty wickets along with it which makes him the only cricketer to do so.
