The T20 league is finally all set to be commenced by 26th November facing multiple hurdles in the way after Sri Lanka’s president had given green signals to drag the league ahead.
Only one of Hambantota’s Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium is under consideration to wind up the league. Earlier, Sooriyawewa, Pallekele, and Dambulla, with the semi-finals and final in Pallekele were the decided venues but as the second layer of COVID-19 is an inn in most of the countries, the board has decided to cut off the venues.
In addition, Galle Gladiators’ Shahid Afridi, who was to lead the team, got late on the flight and is now on the way to reach Sri Lanka. He might miss one or two games and Bhanuka Rajapaksa will lead in his absence.
However, Colombo is all set to lock horns with Kandy in the opening match of the new T20 league at Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium.
