The Lanka Premier League (LPL) has drafted seven Pakistani players, Shoaib Malik, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Mohammad Amir, Asif Ali, Wahab Riaz, Azam Khan, and Usman Shinwar, for their latest upcoming edition to be started by 30th November.

Sarfaraz, Amir, Azam, and Afridi have been named for the Galle Gladiators that is a franchise owned by Pakistan Super League (PSL) Quetta Gladiators. Recently, Afridi was picked as an international icon player for Galle.

On the other hand, Kandy Tuskers have gone for Riaz whereas, Usman Shinwari and Asif Ali are drafted by Jaffna Stallions. At least eight players that are mentioned in the blog will be receiving the No-Object Certificate (NOC) by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). There are high chances that the national board will grant them the NOC as they are unlikely to appear in red-ball domestic competition.

With a total of 150 overseas players, the league is rescheduled for November 14 to last till December 6.

Sri Lanka initiated the LPL in 2018 but the league was called off and was postponed to next year. Unfortunately, 2019 could not hold LPL and as expected, the first edition of the LPL is supposed to be played soon
Sri Lanka has earlier hold the T20 league that goes no popularity. The league was called SPL (the Sri Lanka Premier League). The first edition was all set to be commenced by 2011 but it got shifted to 2012. However, later tournaments were also cancelled. When played, many Pakistani players were also invited to join SPL.
The five franchises will be representing five countries of Sri Lanka; Colombo, Kandy, Jaffna, Galle, and Dambulla.
 Also, the tournament will be played across three venues namely Sooriyawewa, Pallekele and Dambulla, with the semi-finals and final to be played in Pallekele. The Capital city, Colombo will not host any match as it’s Khettarama stadium is still undergoing renovation.(Source: Crictracker)
