Chris Woakes would admire to sign in to as many T20 leagues as he can play. The English cricketer has also added the Pakistan Super League (PSL) among his wishlist and would love to play in between Pakistan fans.
In a conversation with Shan Masood, Woakes revealed the Pakistani fans have always been cheerful with their chants and it is going to be a blissful experience to play PSL among them.
The player talked about the comeback of international cricket in Pakistan and believes that more of test cricket will be played in the cricket-loving nation. Notably, everyone has represented a positive image of the country on returning to their backyards and Woakes also has heard positive views from the men.
Is Chris Woakes going to get featured in PSL soon?
“I would love to (take part in the PSL), I really would, I want to play in as many franchise cricket leagues because it improves you as a player, playing in different conditions in front of different crowds and under different coaches,” the 31-year-old said.
“I would love to play there hopefully sometime in the future but it is tricky with the amount of cricket we played these days,” he added.
“First and foremost, it is really good to see cricket happening in Pakistan. The world cricket is in a better place if Pakistan is hosting its international cricket as other countries do. I have heard great things about Pakistan from the guy who went there and played in PSL. Those guys were full of praise about how things were there. I hope Test tours take place more frequently in the country,” he maintained.
“This series was also hugely competitive and we England had to work extra hard to overcome the challenge. Pakistan had a 10-year unbeaten record and we saw in the series how competitive it was,” he added.
“Pakistan have always had great support in England. I am sure the crowd would have enjoyed the Old Trafford Test as the match deserved a crowd. It would have been great to have banter between fans and to have live noise,” he maintained.
