The Delhi Capitals (DC) are on a big loss on missing out Amit Mishra as he has been ruled out for the entire season of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020). His ruling out is followed by a finger injury he suffered in DC’s last game against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
Mishra, who was already eliminated from the playing XI initially, replaced injured Ravichandran Ashwin but was retained for further matches as well. It would be a hard choice for DC to make as Mishra has already signed replacement with Jason Roy, Chris Woakes, Anrich Nortje, and Daniel Sams.
IPL 2020: Amit Mishra ruled out for the rest of the matches
After the tendon injury was scanned and the results were examined, one of the representatives of the Capitals said:
“The reports have come in and it is bad news. He will be unavailable for the rest of the season and we will need to look at a replacement. But the worst part is that he was looking in a great rhythm and was bowling really well.”
“His experience was something that was not just helping him in the middle on these UAE wickets, but also the young spinners in the team.”
On the other hand, the paceman, Bhuvneshwar Kumar of the Sun Risers Hyderabad (SRH) has also been ruled out following his hip injury for the rest of the tournament. SRH, at the moment, have different choices but none of them measures the experience and versatility of Kumar.
A representative of the health care department of SRH said:
“Bhuvi will not be able to take further part in this year’s tournament as he has been ruled out with a hip injury. A big blow for sure as he is someone who leads the bowling unit and is also an integral part of the leadership group on the ground.”
