BCB president looking forward to Bangladesh’s tour of Pakistan:
BCB president Nazmul Hassan is positive about getting a security clearance from the government to tour Pakistan in the upcoming month. The tour will include 2 Test matches and 3 T20Is, which are scheduled to start from January 2020.
However, BCB president made it clear that the security clearance alone would not be enough, as they will also have to take in to account the consent of the players and team management.
Nazmul Hassan said to the reporters at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium that they cannot force players to go to Pakistan, and they will not pressurize anyone. He also said that he does not think it is the right time to talk about a replacement team, but it will depend on the situations.
Recently, Bangladesh women’s national team toured Pakistan for a 3-match T20I series and 2 ODIs, while Bangladesh U-16 also played 3 50-over matches in Pakistan.
BCB President Nazmul Hassan spoke about the security clearance:
Nazmul Hassan revealed that they have applied to the government to know whether they will get the security clearance for the Pakistan series or not. He talked about the Bangladesh Women and Bangladesh U-16 team visiting Pakistan and said that the security should be the same either if it is the under-12 or the national team.
He said that after gaining the security clearance, it will depend on the cricketers to decide who wants to go and who does not. He also said that there are other matters as well, which needs to be discussed about these things, but he is positive that they can make a final decision within the next few days.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is looking forward to hosting a pink-ball day-night Test match at Karachi, while Bangladesh intends to play the T20I series in Pakistan and the 2 Tests at a neutral venue.
