Amit Mishra, India’s leg-spinner who is representing the Delhi Capitals (DC) in the thirteenth season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), believes that he has not got from the Indian Cricket Team what he really deserves.
In an exclusive interview, the player said that he feels like being underrated and it diverts his mind, however, he is trying to focus only on the franchise he is playing for giving his best.
Fortunately, he is the second most successful bowler in the history of IPL with 157 wickets in 148 matches. Representing Delhi more than other franchises since the inaugural editions of the IPL, he has been a seasoned campaigner.
However, he could feature in 22 Tests, 36 ODIs, and 10 T20Is for India and this is something he believes is much lesser than what he actually deserves. The player has been exceptionally representing Haryana Cricket in the Ranji Trophy and is gaining power for his name in the domestic cricket.
Amit Mishra: I did not get enough chances to represent India
“I don’t know if I am underrated. I used to think too much earlier, so mind used to get diverted, now I just focus on my job.”
“To be honest, I didn’t get what I should have but it’s okay. People know who is Amit Mishra. That’s is enough for me. I have to focus on my cricket and bowling so that is what I do.”
His franchise, DC is all set to play their third match of the IPL 2020 that will be organized at the Sheikh Zayed stadium against the Sun Risers Hyderabad (SRH). Surprisingly, DC have not lost any of the matches of the ongoing season and are all set to give a tough challenge to their opponents today as well.
