Guyana Amazon Warriors won the 15th match of CPL 2019 by 81 runs against Jamaica Tallawahs.

Jamaica Tallawahs won the toss and elected to field first. Shoaib Malik, The captain of Guyana Amazon Warriors had an amazing day today as Guyana Amazon Warriors sent Brandon King and Chandrapaul Hemraj to bat.

Chandrapaul Hemraj went out on a duck in the 2nd over of the game but Brandon king and Shimron Hetmyer handled the situation well with their 2nd wicket partnership of 69 runs off 42 balls for the Guyana Amazon Warriors. Brandon King played a brilliant innings of 59 runs off 37 balls with the help of 4 fours and 6 huge sixes while Shimron Hetmyer of Guyana Amazon Warriors missed his half-century by 6 runs as he scored 44 off 25 balls by smacking 6 fours and 2 sixes all over the ground before he was dismissed by Dwayne Smith.

After the wickets of Brendon King and Shimron Hetmyer fell, the captain Shoaib Malik came to bat and took matters into his own hands for the Guyana Amazon Warriors.

Shoaib Malik played an amazing undefeated inning of 67 off 37 balls by hitting 6 fours and 3 sixes, pushing Guyana Amazon Warriors towards another 200plus target of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2019. The Guyana Amazon Warriors scored 218/6 in the 20 overs thanks Shoaib Malik’s incredible performance.

Against the Guyana Amazon Warriors’ assault, Andre Russel and Jade Dernbach of Jamaica Tallawahs took 2 wickets for their team while Dwayne Smith and Ramaal Lewis took 1 wicket each for the Jamaica Tallahwas.

Jamaica Tallawahs came to bat with Chris Gayle and their wicketkeeper-batsman Glenn Phillips. Guyana Amazon Warriors were able to stop the dangerous Chris Gayle on just 7 runs because of Imran Tahir’s incredible bowling in the very 2nd over of the innings.

With Chris Gayle out of the way of Guyana Amazon Warriors, Glenn Phillips did manage to give some hope to the Jamaica Tallawahs by scoring 40 of 32 balls in front of the huge target of 219 runs but that was not enough as there was no one on the other end who could keep up with him.

Shoaib Malik’s decision of getting his spinners over out of the way early proved to be very effective against the Jamaica Tallawahs who fell one after another. Andre Russel’s explosive 40 off 19 balls with 3 fours and 3 sixes was also not enough to bring Jamaica Tallawahs close to victory in the CPL 2019.

Jamaica Tallawahs’ entire team collapsed on 137 runs in 17.3 overs. Guyana Amazon Warriors Keemo Paul bowled 3 overs and took 3 wickets by conceding only 34 runs. Imran Tahir and Qais Ahmad took 2 wickets each for Guyana Amazon Warriors while Chris Green and Odean Smith contributed in Guyana Amazon Warriors’ victory against Jamaica Tallawahs by taking 1 wicket each.

Man of the Match was awarded to Imran Tahir of Guyana Amazon Warriors with his brilliant performance with the ball. Imran Tahir took 2 wickets at the cost of only 21 runs in his 4 overs, bringing Guyana Amazon Warriors closer to their victory against the Jamaica Tallawahs.

Guyana Amazon Warriors remain undefeated in this year’s season of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). Guyana Amazon Warriors is at the top of the points table of CPL 2019 with 10 points after 5 matches while Jamaica Tallawahs are on the bottom of the points table with 2 points after playing 6 matches
