‘Biggest Injustice’: Says Aqib Javed to PCB on preferring Amir over Junaid Khan

The ex Pakistani cricketer, Aqib Javed, is often known to take the digs no matter at whom. This time, he has targetted Mohammad Amir who already has been criticized after retiring from Test cricket.

He believes Junaid Khan, the pacer, shall have been given preference over Amir for England series as he has retired from Tests and Junaid might have featured in tests as well. As Amir will be available for T20Is only, the former cricketer believes he shall not have been given chance, however, Amir recently has revealed the health crisis he had gone through which forced him to retire from one of the formats.

‘Biggest Injustice’: Says Aqib Javed to PCB on preferring Amir over Junaid Khan

He said Amir is always given preference for some reason and comparing Junaid’s performance with the ex-test bowler, he says Junaid is far better than him.

“PCB and the selection committee are fans of Mohammad Amir. He is always preferred for some reason. If you compare Junaid Khan’s performance with Amir, then Junaid is not behind but in fact better.

The critique further added Junaid Khan has been ignored by the racist PCB that also brought Amir back even after his notable involvement in the spot-fixing scandals.

Injustice has been done with Junaid and he has been ignored for no reason. PCB brought Amir back after that incident [spot-fixing ban] and since then he has given only one noteworthy performance, which was in the 2017 Champions Trophy final. Apart from that, Amir has always struggled since his comeback,” said Javed as quoted by Daily Times.

“I think he is already going for the Twenty20 International matches because he doesn’t play Tests. When you already have around 10 fast-bowlers in the 29-member squad present in England, why do you need to call Amir? There is no clear policy regarding the future,” questioned Javed, who donned the Pakistan jersey in 22 Tests, scalping 54 wickets including a five-wicket haul.
