Ben Stokes, the English cricket star, believes that Jofra Archer holds the utmost importance for England Cricket Team and leaving him till his isolation, the management shall not leave him alone and support the lad.
Ben Stokes believes England must support Jofra Archer
“We really need to be there to support Jofra right now,” Stokes told reporters who scored a magnificent 176 in England’s 469-9 declared to put his side in charge on day two.
“He’s a big talking point and he is by himself because of everything else going on at the moment. It’s making sure that it doesn’t feel like he’s by himself. The worst thing we could do right now as a team is, just leave him and see him in five or six days’ time,” he added.
“At times like this people are very, very tough and you can feel like you are all by yourself, but I don’t think anybody is going to allow that to happen,” he added.
Archer, who after breaching bio-secure protocol, was found guilty, said that he is sorry for whatever has happened. As a consequence, the player will be isolated for five days and will be tested twice for COVID-19. If he will be tested negative, he can rejoin the team after five days after the self-isolation period will be lifted.
“I am extremely sorry for what I have done,” said Archer.
“I have put, not only myself but the whole team and management in danger. I fully accept the consequences of my actions, and I want to sincerely apologize to everyone in the bio-secure bubble,” he added.
“It deeply pains me to be missing the Test match, especially with the series poised. I feel like I have let both teams down, and again I am sorry,” he maintained.
