Papua New Guinea won the toss and elected to bat first in the second Semi-Final. They sent Tony Ura and captain Assad Vala to open their innings. Tony Ara got caught by Captain Gerhard Erasmus towards mid-on on JJ Smit’s delivery after scoring 13 runs from 12 balls, in the third over of the match. Captain Assad Vala also got dismissed after adding 5 runs to his team’s total. Lega Siaka contributed 7 runs from 10 balls before getting caught on the deep square leg by Nikolaas Davin on Ben Shikongo’s delivery.

Papua New Guinea had a slow start as they scored only 35 runs for 3 wickets during the powerplay, but they kept on playing at the same pace without losing many wickets in the process.
