The Amazon Warriors qualified for the CPL 19 final after defeating Barbados Tridents by 30 runs in the qualifier. Guyana Amazon Warriors won the toss and decided to bat first against the Tridents. Brandon King and Chandrapaul Hemraj came to bat for the Amazon Warriors.

Chandrapaul Hemraj lost his wicket to Hayden Walsh after scoring 27 runs off 23 balls, while the captain Shoaib Malik scored 32 runs off 19 balls. Brandon King was the star of the match with his undefeated incredible innings of 132* runs off 72 balls, the highest individual score in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). Brandon King remained not out as he struck a total of 10 fours and 11 sixes all over the ground for his brilliant knock.

Brandon King’s explosive innings brought Guyana Amazon Warriors to the score of 218 runs for 3 wickets, on the same pitch where Trinbago Knight Riders and St Kitts and Nevis Patriots struggled to get past 120 runs, just a few hours earlier.

All of Tridents bowlers suffered against Brandon King and the company but Hayden Walsh managed to snatch 2 wickets for 42 runs while Jason Holder took 1 for 36 runs.

Barbados Tridents’ innings against Guyana Amazon Warriors:

Barbados Tridents required 219 runs on 120 balls to win the match. The Tridents’ wicketkeeper-batsman Johnson Charles and Alex Hales came to bat first against the Amazon Warriors. Johnson Charles scored 15 runs off 15 balls, while Alex Hales started out in an explosive fashion as he scored 36 runs off 19 balls for 2 fours and 3 sixes.

Shai Hope and JP Duminy contributed 21 runs and 14 runs respectively, while Jonathan Carter and Tridents’ captain Jason Holder tried to do what they could towards the end of the match.

Jonathan Carter scored 49 runs off 29 balls for 5 fours and 3 sixes while Tridents’ captain Jason Holder scored 29 off 15 balls. Barbados Tridents’ finished on a total of 188 runs for 8 wickets after 20 overs in their chase for 219 runs.

Romario Shepherd claimed 3 wickets for the Amazon Warriors. Amazon’s captain Shoaib Malik took 1 wicket, while Odean Smith and Imran Tahir snatched 2 wickets each for their team.

Guyana Amazon Warriors’ Brandon King was awarded the “Player of the Match” as he scored the highest ever individual score of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2019. Brandon King has scored a total of 453 runs this season, the highest by any batsman in this year’s Caribbean Premier League. Brandon King has also struck 31 sixes, the most sixes so far by any batsman in this year’s tournament. King has also struck a total of 11 sixes in an innings which is the highest so far by any batsman in a single innings in CPL 19.

Guyana Amazon Warriors now advances to the Final of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2019 for the 5th time. The Amazon Warriors continue their streak by winning 11 games in a row.

Barbados Tridents will now face Trinbago Knight Riders in the semi-final on the 10th of October. Trinbago Knight Riders defeated St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in the eliminator by 6 wickets earlier today.
