Mohammad Hafeez scored 11 runs as all of the top order batsmen lost their wickets one after the other at the hands of the Knight Riders. St Kitts and Nevis Patriots only managed to score 30 runs at the loss of two wickets in the first six overs of the match.

Patriot’s wicketkeeper Devon Thomas scored 10 runs off 16 balls and Captain Carlos Brathwaite could only make 3 runs. Patriots’ Laurie Evans played a sensible innings of 55 runs off 47 balls for 8 fours amidst the batting crisis his team was facing. Laurie Evans innings brought the Patriots to a score of 125 runs for 7 wickets after 20 overs.

The Knight Riders’ Chris Jordan took 3 wickets for 30 runs while Ali Khan and Sunil Narine claimed 2 wickets each against St Kitts and Nevis Patriots.

Trinbago Knight Riders required 126 runs off 120 balls to win the match. Lendl Simmons and Sunil Narine came to bat first for the Knight Riders. Lendl Simmons made things very easy for the Knight Riders with his 51 runs off 47 balls for 3 fours and 3 sixes, setting up a solid foundation for his team to build their game around.

Towards the end of their innings, Dinesh Ramdin and Kieron Pollard made sure to secure the win with their batting performances. The Knight Riders’ wicketkeeper Dinesh Ramdin scored 32 runs off 38 balls for 2 fours and a six, while their captain, Kieron Pollard smacked the ball all around for 26 runs off 9 balls with the help of a four and 3 sixes, bringing his team to a 6 wicket victory with 8 balls remaining. Trinbago Knight Riders finished their innings on 128/4 as Kieren Pollard smacked the ball for a four in Carlos Braithwaite’s over.

Sunil Narine of the Trinbago Knight Riders was awarded the “Player of the Match” for his exceptional performance with the ball despite having a broken finger, taking 2 wickets by conceding only 10 runs in his 4 overs at the economy rate of 2.50. Narine’s performance played a vital role in slowing down St Kitts and Nevis Patriots as they finished on 125 runs for 7 wickets after 20 overs.

Trinbago Knight Riders now advance to the Semi-final on the 10th of October, where they will face Barbados Tridents, who lost the qualifier against the Guyana Amazon Warriors. The winner of the semi-final will then face the undefeated team of this Tournament, Guyana Amazon Warriors on October 12. Guyana Amazon Warriors have now extended their winning streak to 11 wins as they defeated Barbados Tridents in the qualifiers by 30 runs.
