New Zealand captain, Kane Williamson is likely to miss the second test match against West Indies and his absence is to follow New Zealand’s matches against Pakistan as well.
The reason for his vacancy is the birth of his first child as Kane’s spouse, Sarah Raheem is due to give birth either in mid or late December.
Kane informed the authorities on Friday of his decision that he might miss the days closer to the matches. Also, the coach of the Kiwis, Gary Stead agrees with his absenteeism as he accepts that his paternity time is more mattering than the matches.

Gary understands that one gets such precious time once in a lifetime to witness the birth of the first baby and it must be important for the New Zealand captain too.
“Worst case scenario Kane misses some matches. As a dad, as a parent, you only get that opportunity once in your life to be there for your (first) child’s birth and I know that it’s important for Kane too,” Stead told reporters.
“At the end of the day we play cricket and other things are much more important and that is much more important,” he added.
The host team is to play a three-match T20I series against Pakistan that is to get started by 18th December. Later, the shorter-format series is to be followed by the two test matches.
Kane’s side is yet to come up with the squads whereas, the PCB has finalized an 18-member squad for the T20I series.
