The second last league match of the thirteenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) took place between the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and the Delhi Capitals (DC). It was the encounter in which, if successful, would have grant a direct ticket to the playoffs. But the fate of two franchises was opaque as two of them are now in the playoffs.
The reason behind RCB getting qualified despite their defeat was the equal points as to that of the DC and their better run rate than the Kolkata Knight Riders.
Now, they do not have to wait for the condition in which SRH were supposed to lose in order for the DC’s qualification and Sun Risers Hyderabad (SRH) defeat or success does not matter for them as of now.
IPL 2020: The only way SRH can make it to playoffs
In case, if SRH will be the winners they will be the fourth qualifiers and the battle would be highly reliant upon the net run rate of the two franchises; Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and the SRH to get in the playoffs.
However, the first qualifier round will be played in between the DC and the Mumbai Indians (MI) on Thursday in the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. RCB will be facing any of SRH or KKR on Friday. Later, there is a third play-off in which the table-toppers MI will get another chance in case if failed in the first playoff.
