Umar Gul, the experienced Pakistani pacer, has denounced retirement from all formats of cricket. He lastly has featured in the National T20 Cup that was started on 30th September and played his last game against Southern Punjab as his team, Balochistan got eliminated from the tournament.

The player has a sound career in Pakistan International Cricket. Making his ODI and Test debuts back in 2003 against Zimbabwe and Bangladesh respectively, he has grabbed 179 and 163 wickets in order. He played his last ODI in 2016 whereas winded up from the tests back in 2013. Grabbing 85 T20I wickets, he started his T20I career in 2007 and ended in 2016 featuring in the 60 innings of the 60 matches.

Recently, there was controversy as he was still a player and occupying a post in the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) cricket committee which was against the protocols. Earlier, he said that he is not sure but once he will step into coaching, his cricketing career will be diminished. According to the reports, Gul is now looking for the coaching roles in the PCB.

He said goodbye to Pakistan forever and with his tears in his eyes, he stated,

 “Cricket is my passion and I am honored to represent my country in this sport. It is tough for me to leave what I liked the most but it is life and one day you have to leave. I would like to thank my family, my wife especially, and all the fans who showed immense support to me throughout my whole career. I will miss the field too much and I am looking forward to contributing to Pakistan’s cricket in the future,”

He was also given a guard of honor fr being a front-line Pakistan’s pacer.
