Wasim Khan, the CEO of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), despite admitting the fact that Team Pakistan has been staying in the below standard hotels in England, has said that the team has had basics covered.
He believes that the team will soon be staying in the 5-stars hotel as they are in the three-stars hotel at Derbyshire. He believes that what is necessary is the availability of the basic needs and players are even having indoor games in these hotels.
Wasim Khan: Even in 3-stars hotel, Pakistan team has the basics covered
“Not every ground has a five-star hotel. What we had to do was gauge whether our players were getting the basic necessities or not. In Worcester earlier and now Derby, all the basic amenities have been made available to the team. They even have indoor games to play,” Wasim told Geo Super.
“Of course, none of this is ideal but you also have to see that the situation we’re in is also less than ideal. When things are back to normal, the players will also be back in five-star hotels.”
At present, the team is playing an intra-squad match. One match has already been done before and the team will be involved in the warm-up sessions before kicking off the first test of the series.
The sides will be featuring in three test matches that are to be played at Old Trafford, Ageas Bowl, and Ageas Bowl respectively, whereas, the three T20Is will be played at Old Trafford.
It has been decided that the series will be resumed behind closed doors to avoid the spreading of the Coronavirus.
