The newly-elected captain of Peshawar Zalmi, Wahab Riaz who recently has taken over the post from Darren Sammy has been succeeded in capturing the first win under his captaincy as Zalmi has defeated Quetta Gladiators in the 18th match of HBL PSL at Rawalpindi stadium.
Earlier today, Moin Khan, the head coach of Quetta Gladiators announced that after winning the toss they will go for fielding first and did the same but, lost in the end as change in the strategy did not work for them.
Moin Khan unimpressed by Gladiators performance
It is an alarming situation for Gladiators as they have lost 4 matches out of total played and it was must to declare victory game for Zalmi as they had gone down to the fifth spot. A 30 run victory might help out in claiming better CRR heading to a better position.
Recently few hours back, Darren Sammy was appointed as the head coach of the franchise handing over the captaincy to Wahab Riaz who has declared the first victory as a skipper.
The game at first was disturbed by the dazzle out there at Rawalpindi and the toss was delayed. In 15 overs, Zalmi rocked with the bat as Gladiators conceded a sound target of 171 to be chased and lost running out of balls at 140.
