Southern Punjab got defeated by Balochistan in the 9th match of the National T20 Cup. Southern Punjab scored 144 runs at the cost of 7 wickets while batting first after 20 overs. Balochistan chased the target at the cost of 3 wickets in 19.3 overs with 3 balls to spare as a result of Imam-ul-Haq’s half-century.
Northern’s Sohail Akhtar on fire:
Northern won the toss and elected to bat first. They sent Umar Amin and Ali Imran to open the innings. Northern lost their first wicket in the first over of the match after Ali Imran got dismissed for 4 runs. Umar Amin and Sohail Akhtar put together a 102 run partnership to build a match-winning foundation for Northern.

Sohail Akhtar played an amazing innings after he smacked the ball all over the ground for 63 runs off 36 balls, for which he was also awarded the “Player of the Match”. Sohail Akhtar struck a total of 6 fours and 3 huge sixes in his innings against Sindh. Umar Amin scored 36 runs off 25 balls before being run out. Asif Ali contributed 30 runs off 16 balls for 3 fours and 2 sixes to further push Northern’s total. Mohammad Nawaz lost his wicket for 13 runs off 10 balls.
Northern’s captain Imad Wasim remained not out after hitting 27 off 19 balls for 2 fours and a six. Imad Wasim finished Northern’s innings on 191 runs off 7 wickets after 20 overs.
Mohammad Hasnain takes two:
Sindh’s bowlers were quite helpless against Sohail Akhtar’s assault but Mohammad Hasnain was able to claim two wickets for 32 runs after his 4 overs. Kashif Bhatti and Mirza Ahsan Jameel turned out to be very expensive for Sindh. Kashif Bhatti took 1 for 45 runs, while Mirza Ahsan Jameel snatched 1 wicket for 41 runs. Sohail Khan and Anwar Ali also took 1 wicket each for Sindh.
Mohammad Amir and Shadab Khan lead the bowling attack:
Sindh required 192 runs off 120 balls to win the match against Northern. Sindh started with Khurram Manzoor and Ahsan Ali. Khurram Manzoor and Ahsan Ali scored a 44 runs partnership for their team. Khurram Manzoor scored 16 off 16 balls, while Ahsan Ali contributed 29 runs off 20 balls before losing his wicket to Shadab Khan.
Sindh’s captain Asad Shafiq could only score 17 off 16 balls while Sarfaraz Ahmed also scored 17 runs off 15 balls. Sindh was 6 down at 100 runs with 91 runs still required off 38 balls. Sindh lost their remaining 4 wickets by the time they reached 125 runs in 17.4 overs, losing the match by 66 runs against Northern.

Shadab Khan turned out to be the most successful bowler for Northern. Shadab Khan claimed 3 wickets for 28 runs in his four overs. Mohammad Amir also bowled outstandingly after he took 2 wickets for 18 runs at the economy rate of 6. Northern’s captain Imad Wasim took 1 wicket for 16 runs in his 3 overs, while Sohail Tanvir also snatched 1 wicket for 23 runs. Mohammad Nawaz and Haris Rauf also took 1 wicket each for Northern against Sindh.
