Bangladesh veteran cricketer and captain of the T20I squad, Mahmudullah speaks about their upcoming 3-match T20I series in Pakistan. Mahmudullah and Tamim Iqbal are the only players among the current Bangladesh squad to have played before on Pakistan soil back in 2008.
Mahmudullah said that he and Tamim Iqbal will try to shoulder responsibilities in the absence of Shakib Al Hasan, Mashrafe Mortaza, and Mushfiqur Rahim. He also clarified that the Bangladesh cricketers are not concerned about the security anymore and will try to fully focus on cricket.
Mahmudullah said: “Tamim and I both feel that we have a little more responsibility. Tamim’s experience would matter a lot in the top order. He is in good rhythm, having made runs in the BPL. I will also try to fulfill my responsibilities too.”

“Pakistan is providing us with the best possible security arrangements. The members of the squad are not worried about security at all. We are only thinking about our game; how to perform well and win,” said Mahmudullah.
He was also focused on not underestimating Pakistan as an opponent just because of a recent few bad series in the past. The T20I captain is also confident that they can triumph over Pakistan if they play to their potential.
“Pakistan may have not played up to potential in the last few series but they are a strong side. I am sure they are concerned about their series loss to Sri Lanka. But we are focused on our game. We must utilize the number of in-form cricketers we have in the squad. If we play to our potential, we can win the series,” Mahmudullah added.
Bangladesh will face Pakistan on January 24, 25, and 27 in Lahore. The team will for Pakistan on January 22.
