The Galle Gladiators have fanciedLasith Malinga as their Icon player for the Lanka Premier League (LPL 2020). The bowler has been exceptional in T20Is and T20s as he is the highest wicket-taker in T20I. Earlier, they had chosen Shahid Afridi as the international icon player.
Afridi, who has been auctioned for $60,000 base price, will be playing for Galle Gladiators along with Malinga, that is directly linked up with PSL’s Quetta Gladiators. Shoaib Malik, the veteran player, has been bought for $50,000 whereas Mohammad Amir, Mohammad Hafeez, and Wahab Riaz are auctioned for $40,000.
LPL has auctioned twenty-four Pakistani players. With a total of 150 overseas players, the league is rescheduled for November 14 to last till December 6.

Also, the tournament will be played across three venues namely Sooriyawewa, Pallekele and Dambulla, with the semi-finals and final to be played in Pallekele. The Capital city, Colombo will not host any match as it’s Khettarama stadium is still undergoing renovation.(SOurce: Crictracker)
