Ish Sodhi becomes Rajasthan Royal’s spin consultant:
Indian born New Zealand leg-spinner, Ish Sodhi has been announced as Rajasthan Royals’ new spin consultant and operations executive for the upcoming season of Indian Premier League (IPL).
He made his first international appearance in a Test against Bangladesh in October 2013. Since then, Sodhi has played 17 Tests for New Zealand, claiming 41 wickets at an average of 48.58. He also played 31 ODIs and secured 39 scalps for himself at an average of 36.66. Sodhi took part in 40 T20Is and took 47 wickets at an average of 24.06.
Ish Sodhi will be joining Rajasthan Royals’ spin bowling coach Sairaj Bahatule and Chief Operating Officer Jake Luch McCrum. Sodhi was also part of the Royals as a player in the previous 2 seasons of IPL and claimed 9 wickets in 8 matches.

The 27-year-old leg-spinner said: “I am delighted to be taking on this new challenge at Rajasthan Royals with this dual role. Having played for two seasons for the Royals, I have formed a great level of understanding with all the people involved with the franchise, and they have always been very supportive of me. Therefore, I did not have to think twice when this opportunity was offered to me by the Royals’ management. I love this franchise and want to help us win the IPL this year,”
