India defeats Sri Lanka in the 2nd T20I:
India beat Sri Lanka by 7 wickets with 15 balls remaining in the 2nd T20I of the tour and is not leading the 3-match T20I series by 1-0. Navdeep Saini was named the “Player of the Match” for his exceptional bowling figures of 18/2 in his 4 overs.
The 1st T20I at Guwahati was abandoned due to rain and the 3rd and final T20I will be played at Pune on January 10. The 3rd T20I will decide if India will win the series, otherwise, the series will end in a draw.

Kusal Perera remained the top-scorer from Sri Lanka’s side after scoring 34 runs from 28 deliveries. Dasun Shanaka added 17 runs and Wanindu Hasaranga remained unbeaten with 16 runs from 10 balls towards the end of Sri Lanka’s innings as they finished on 142 runs for 9 wickets.
Shardul Thakur claimed 3 wickets in the death overs after conceding 23 runs. Navdeep Saini and Kuldeep Yadav both secured 2 wickets each, while Jasprit Bumrah and Washington Sundar took 1.

While chasing the target of 143, KL Rahul and Shikhar Dhawan provided India with a stable start. The opening pair shared a 71 runs partnership. KL Rahul scored 45 runs from 32 balls, while Shikhar Dhawan contributed 32 from 29 deliveries. Shreyas Iyer added 34 runs to the board.
Skipper Virat Kohli smacked 30 runs from 17 balls and remained undefeated as India clinched victory by scoring 144/3 in just 17.3 overs. Sri Lanka’s Lahuri Kumara got 1 wicket, while Wanindu Hasaranga secured 2 wickets for Sri Lanka.
