Haris Rauf takes a hat-trick in BBL

Haris Rauf takes a hat-trick as Stars defeat Sydney Thunder by 6 wickets:

Pakistani medium-fast bowler, Haris Rauf, rocked the MCG as he took a hat-trick in Melbourne Stars’ last over against Sydney Thunder in the Big Bash League (BBL). Melbourne Stars defeated Sydney Thunder by 6 wickets.

Haris dismissed Mathew Gilkes on 19.2 as Sandeep Lamichhane took the catch at deep fine leg. On 19.3, he bowled Sydney Thunder’s skipper Callum Ferguson who scored 35 runs from 27 balls. On 19.4, Haris lbw Daniel Sams to finish with a hat-trick.

Haris Rauf has now claimed 13 wickets in just 4 matches in BBL. His presence in the team was in doubt after Dale Steyn got fit to play in his remaining matches and Pat Brown ready to replace Steyn for the remaining half of the tournament. Recently Pat Brown was ruled out of the entire winter season due to lower back stress fracture, thus, another opportunity to make an appearance in the BBL showed itself to Haris.

The Pakistani bowler had raised some eyebrows for his ‘throat-slitting’ celebration after taking wickets. However, he has apologized for his behavior and adopted a more ‘family-friendly’ celebration style.
