The final of the ICC World Cup 2019 is known to be the most thrilling World Cup final in the history of the mega-events. The two teams, Kane Williamson’s New Zealand and Eoin Morgan’s home-sided England, fought till eternity to grab the title of the ‘winners’.
After the bombastic performance from both sides, they were dragged to the super over as the score tied. The match became thrilling after the super over tied too. Ian Bishop’s craziest and full of life commentary gave the life to the match and New Zealand’s Brendon McCullum’s heartbreaking saddening reactions from the commentary panel cleared the defeat of New Zealand in the final moments when it was decided that the trophy will be lifted to the skipper whose side will be having the highest number of boundaries in the main match and super over.
England, conceding the higher number of boundaries took that advantage as Morgan’s Ben Stokes end the game with the thrills. Disappointed Williamson’s side put all the efforts they could. Thanks to Archer who grabbed Guptill to end the World Cup whose fate was harder to decide due to the equal efforts put by both sides.
Throwback to the finals of the ICC World Cup 2019
New Zealand, after batting first, set an average target of 242 on the loss of eight wickets. Henry Nicholls dominated among his side scoring 55 of 77. Tom Latham added 47 (56) whereas, the skipper could score 30 (53). The target could have been an easy chase but the Kiwis bowlers got dominated over the home-siders grabbing the last batsman on a score tier.
The super over initiated and England won after the pacer Archer, fell Neesham short when two runs of the last ball were needed. It was surely a game worthy of final.
