Fabian Allen returns after recovering from injury:
West Indies bowler, Fabian Allen, makes his way back to the T20I squad after recovering from a knee injury. Allen will play the 3-match T20I series against India. Allen was part of the squad that played against Afghanistan in Lucknow but had to pull out after getting injured in the first game.
West Indies is set to play 3-match T20I and ODI series against West Indies, starting from December 6. Kieron Pollard will be leading the WI squad in both formats.
Shai Hope out of T20I squad against India after Allen’s return:
Shai Hope, who was brought in as a cover for Denesh Ramdin after he got injured, played one T20I against Afghanistan and scored 52 runs from 46 deliveries. Denesh Ramdin is now fit and will be a part of the T20I squad in place of Shai Hope.
Shai Hope still retains his spot in the ODI squad. Brandon King also stays in the T20I squad, while Hayden Walsh Jr is part of both.
West Indies head coach, Phil Simmons, said that they have three matches in each format, and they want to give each squad a chance to compete against India. Simmons added that facing India will be more difficult for them in both formats. The head coach said that the next ICC T20 World Cup is in Australia and the one after that is in India, so they want to do a lot of preparation for Australia first.
