Shikhar Dhawan ruled out of T20I series against West Indies:
India’s opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan has been ruled out of the upcoming 3-match home T20I series against West Indies, due to knee injury. 25-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson has been brought in the 15-men T20I squad as a replacement.
The 3-match T20I series is set to start from December 6.
Sanju Samson to replace Dhawan in the T20I squad to face West Indies:
Dhawan injured his left knee while playing a T20 match in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Dhawan suffered the injury when he attempted a dive back to his crease, and a piece of wood pierced through his knees.

Sanju Samson played his only T20I against Zimbabwe in July 2015. Sanju Samson was also selected for the T20I squad to face Bangladesh but did not make it into the playing XI. Samson was left out from the initial T20I squad to face West Indies to make a place for the skipper Virat Kohli, who was rested for the T20I series against Bangladesh.

KL Rahul is expected to open the innings in Shikar Dhawan’s place. KL Rahul batted at no. 3 against Bangladesh and scored a total of 65 runs in 3 T20Is.
Wriddhiman Saha undergoes successful surgery on fractured finger:
Test wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha got his right ring finger fractured during the day-night pink-ball Test against Bangladesh in Kolkata. Saha was suggested a surgical fixation of the fracture by a hand and wrist specialist. The surgery was termed “Successful” by the BCCI, but it is currently unclear how long Saha’s injury will take to heal.
