Karachi Kings signs Australia’s Dean Jones as Head Coach:

Australia’s Dean Jones has been appointed as the new head coach of Karachi Kings for the fifth season of Pakistan Super League (PSL), replacing Mikey Arthur who had been the team’s head coach for the past 4 years since 2016. Karachi Kings made an official announcement through twitter about Dean Jones’ appointment as the new head coach of the team.

Dean Jones was recently sacked from his role as the Head Coach of Islamabad United. He had been Islamabad United’s coach for the last four years since the first edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in 2016 and they have won the title twice under his 4-year stint. Pakistan’s national team’s head coach and chief selector, Misbah-ul-Haq is expected to replace Dean Jones as the new head coach of Islamabad United but there has been no official announcement from their side yet.

Dean Jones posted a picture of Karachi Kings’ kit on his official twitter today which was presented to him by the owner of the franchise, Salman Iqbal.

Dean Jones said that it will be a privilege and honor for him to coach such a strong a successful side and he is looking forward to working with such a wonderful team and owners.

Dean Jones played 52 Tests and 164 ODIs throughout his career. He scored more than 3600 runs in Tests with an average of 46.55 and amassed more than 6000 runs in ODIs with an average of 44.61.

Karachi Kings, despite being a very strong team on paper in each edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), have had a 42.68% win ratio in all the past editions of the tournament.
