Match Preview

The Rajasthan Royals were highly dominant in the first two games they played in Sharjah. However, in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, the team bagged big losses in their last two matches. Both the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) completely influenced these games and didn’t give RR a chance. For them, it is important to get a knack of these conditions sooner rather than later. Otherwise, they would be finding themselves in a tough spot right after the first half of the tournament.

Weather Report & Pitch Condition

As usual, the weather in Abu Dhabi will be clear on Sunday, with no chance of rainfall and temperature hovering around the 29 degree Celsius mark.

The pitch at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium at the start of the tournament did not favour the batsmen at all, but now chasing is the most viable option on this surface. The bowlers will enjoy little help from the surface and will have to work their way through the match using it.

Average first innings score:

136 (Last five Indian T20 League matches at this venue)

Record of the chasing teams:

Won – 4, Lost – 0, Tie – 1 (Last five Indian T20 League matches at this venue)

RR vs MI Top Picks

  • Jofra Archer: In excellent bowling form this season, he took 2-21 last time out to move to 14 wickets in his last nine matches.
  • Jos Buttler: The England batsman has not consistently hit his big-hitting best but when he does fire, there are few better than him.
  • Ben Stokes: A late arrival, but like Buttler he only needs to fire once to prove exactly what he can offer – with bat and ball.
  • Quinton de Kock: More runs last time out, hitting a tidy 46* at the top of the order to ease Mumbai to their dominant win.
  • Jasprit Bumrah: Part of the opening burst last time out, he claimed 2-25 to continue his resurgent wicket-taking form this season.
  • Trent Boult: The New Zealand paceman claimed 4-18 from his four overs to lead Mumbai to their dominant win last time out.

Dream 11 IPL 2020

The tournament is set to kick off with a blockbuster clash, with the defending champions Mumbai Indians locking horns with three-time winners and the runners-up of the last edition, Chennai Super Kings.

The 53-day tournament will consist of 10 double-headers and will be played in the bio-secure environment of the UAE behind closed doors.

The IPL will take place across the three venues in the United Arab Emirates- Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah. The Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi will host 20 round-robin games including the tournament opener, while Dubai and Sharjah will play host to 24 and 12 games respectively.Earlier, BCCI Chief Sourav Ganguly stated that the IPL 2020 schedule will be released on September 4, 2020, in an interview to ABP News.

“We understand schedules are delayed. It is almost on the verge of getting final and should be released by Friday”, said Ganguly.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) Chairman Brijesh Patel informed that the IPL Governing Council is proposed to meet after 24 July to chalk out the final details and schedule of IPL 2020.
