The future of the T20 World Cup 2020 is in doubt in the midst of the widely spreading deadly disease known as the Coronavirus. The tournament as per the existing schedule is all set to be commenced by 18th October but the improbabilities caused by the Coronavirus have mark the future of the mega-event as ‘unsure’.

The cricketing authorities have not yet taken a final decision on the fate of the T20 World Cup and it can be postponed shifting to 2020 or 2021. It is going to very difficult for the organizers to settle sixteen teams in one place and giving them vast venues for net sessions and living places.

Australia is safe from the Coronavirus but out of sixteen participants of the World Cup, many countries are still suffering from the disease hence, making it hard for the tournament to go ahead.

Carl Eddings, the newly appointed chairman of Cricket Australia, thinks that the world is at this point in time where it is unrealistic and very difficult to host the T20 World Cup 2020.

“While it hasn’t been formally called off this year, or postponed, trying to get 16 countries into Australia in the current world, where most countries are still going through COVID spiking, I think it’s unrealistic, or it’s going to be very, very difficult,” Carl Eddings, the CA chairman, was quoted as saying in Times Now.

However, he made it clear the tournament has not been called off or postponed this year formally as an official announcement is yet to be made.
